Prize draws on Crowdfunder: Stump Cross Caverns’ VW Campervan prize draw

Stump Cross Caverns is the only natural cave system in the Southern Yorkshire Dales which is open to the public. In fact, it’s continuously been open to tourists since it was discovered in 1863. 

As well as being a stunning attraction with natural rock formations, they’re also a massive educational resource with the bones of numerous Ice Age creatures having been discovered in the caverns. 

Though multiple lockdowns and closures left the owners facing serious financial trouble. To keep the business alive for future generations to enjoy, the Bowerman family had an idea. They decided to put their VW T30 Campervan up for a prize draw. 

4,073 people entered the prize draw, raising an incredible £73,222 to keep the business open!

Lisa and the Stump Cross Caverns team expressed their thanks in an update on their page. They said, “Someone once said that whatever we possess becomes of double value when we share it with others. Looking around me at the difference your financial support has made to Stump Cross Caverns, I know that to be true.”
